I've been working on my knitting skills lately. Getting more comfortable with those double pointed needles.
The results:
the umbilical cord hat - a baby shower gift.
This was a hit at the party. I even had another expecting mother ask for one.
Pattern from The Knitter's Handbook
Yarn - Bernat Cottontots Ombres
This hat pattern is called BasicSimpleLazy. You can find it here .
Yarn - NaturallyCaron.com Country
This yarn wasn't my favorite. It tended to split.
I've been spending too much time over at Ravelry. It is a great resource for patterns and inspiration.
That hat is too hilarious. Double pointed needles eh? That sounds way serious.

What a cute baby hat you have knitted. I agree there is much inspiration on Ravelry, almost too much :-)

Very original the idea of the umbilical cord!

I just looked at this in my book. Thinking about all the stuff I'd like to learn. I looked over the double-knitted needles instructions and i got scared off.....ohhhh for another day.
I really need to adapt and learn different techniques other than just scarves.
