The last day for this fun color week. Thanks to everyone who visited. It's been fun to check out all of your colorful blogs. And thanks to Leya for getting us all together.
:-)
These could get a bit more use!
Have a great weekend.

I finished this quilt for Christian last weekend. Christian played a big part in fabric choices and helping with the layout of the squares.
All the fabrics are from Michael Miller's Sailor collection. Lots of anchors and skull and crossbones.
I made the double-bias binding and think it turned out pretty good for a first attempt.
So, a sailor quilt for a reluctant sailor who never wants to take a cruise because he has heard there are still pirates out there. And it didn't help that just last week we heard a story on npr about pirates taking over a cruise ship and holding everyone hostage. Ugh!
Hiking, site seeing and too much eating. We decided to explore closer to home since there is so much of Texas we haven't seen. So, we headed to Fredericksburg and San Antonio taking the back highways through the hill country. It was a beautiful and relaxed drive and the weather was just perfect.

I finished my first quilt yesterday. This is a project I never thought I would attempt.
The pattern is Amy Butler's Lotus Brick Path Quilt.
My boys gave very positive feedback, although it was suggested there were too many polka-dots. This of course was dismissed immediately!
I was confused about what type of batting to use, but Amy's article at Sew Mama Sew cleared all that up. What great timing. I ended up using Warm & Natural cotton batting. It was very easy to work with.
